Onyx Pharmaceuticals has announced the appointment of John Osborn as senior vice president, Global Corporate Affairs.
In his role, Osborn will be responsible for the public and government affairs activities of the company, as well as key stakeholder relationships.
“As a lawyer, policy advocate and former diplomat, John brings a diverse and extensive background to Onyx, with broad experience across the life sciences industry and the US government,” said Dr Anthony Coles, president of chief executive at Onyx.
“John is a proven leader and his unique expertise aligns well with our plan for global growth as a multi-product company reaching patients around the world.”
Prior to joining Onyx, Osborn was executive VP, General Counsel and secretary at Dendreon. Previously, he held similar roles at US Oncology where he worked on its merger with McKesson, and at Cephalon where he managed legal, public and government affairs during a critical growth period.
Osborn also served with the US Department of State during the George Bush administration, and in 2008 was confirmed by the Senate as a member of the bipartisan United States Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy.
