pharmafile | April 24, 2013 | Appointment | Medical Communications, Sales and Marketing | NHS Trust, Tiernan, comms
Antony Tiernan has joined West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust as its director of corporate affairs and communications.
Tiernan held this same position at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust for more than five years. He will manage the trust’s Board and its committees along with the hospitals’ websites.
Speaking of the appointment he said he is looking working with the trust’s doctors, nurses, midwives and other staff to further improve the way that they communicate and engage with each other.
“I’m also keen to make sure we are using modern technology to its best advantage, from our websites to social media such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Social media has had an amazing impact on our society and we need to make better use of it within the NHS,” Tiernan added.
