Tee joins as chief operating officer, leading the NHS Confederation’s work on member engagement, business development and communications.

Farrar said: “We chose Johnny and Matt from an exceptional field of candidates and I am delighted that we have two appointees who are so well-known and respected throughout the worlds of healthcare and Whitehall.

Marshall said: “I have been closely involved with the NHS Confederation over the past year and am very excited at this opportunity to formally join the organisation.”

Tee added: “The NHS Confederation is a voice for the NHS to the public, Government and the media. To be credible, that voice must be rooted in the concerns and experiences of its members.”

Marshall has been a GP in Buckinghamshire since 1992. He served as chair of the National Association of Primary Care for three years from 2008 to 2011 and remains a member of the organisation’s executive. He is currently an associate director at the NHS Confederation.

Tee is currently managing director of communication and strategy consultancy Reputate. Prior to this he was Permanent Secretary Government Communication, overseeing communications for the UK Government and directing the Central Office of Information (COI).
