Merck KGaA appoints new heads of corporate auditing and strategy

Merck KGaA has appointed Dr Friederike Rotsch as its new head of corporate auditing. She reports to Karl-Ludwig Kley, chairman of the executive board of Merck.

At the same time, the company announced that Isabel De Paoli would assume the leadership of corporate strategy as of 1 January 2012. She too will report directly to Kley.

Rotsch (39) joined Merck in 2005 as a member of the legal department, where she was also responsible for corporate governance.

Isabel De Paoli (37) began her career at Merck in chemicals business development in 2006.

She transferred to the Merck Serono division in 2009. Shortly thereafter, she was appointed head of global strategic planning oncology.

Before joining Merck, De Paoli worked for several years as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group as well as a manager at Permira Beteiligungsberatung, a European private equity company.
