Lilly names new VP of communications

Jeffrey Winton will next month join Lilly as vice president of communications and take a place on the company’s global corporate affairs leaership team.

In his new role Jeffrey will be responsible for communications across Lilly, including oversight of corporate and product communications, and digital and social communications.

He will report to Bart Peterson, senior vice president, corporate affairs and communications.

“Jeff brings unique biopharmaceutical experience that will help guide Lilly through one of the more challenging periods in our company’s history. He has a clear vision for how Lilly can expand and enhance our communications with an increasingly global audience,” said Peterson.

Jeffrey most recently served as co-owner and managing partner of new Jersey firm West Mill Consulting, during which time he also served as interim head, communications and public relations for Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals following the merger of Bayer and Schering.

Prior to forming West Mill, Jeffrey served in various senior leadership and communications roles with Schering-Plough, Pharmacia, Roche and American Cyanamid Company.
