Laird chief executive takes up key innovation role

David Lockwood OBE has been appointed to an influential business innovation role in the UK as non-executive chair of the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN). 

This new organisation aims to bring UK innovators together from across business and academia in order to develop ideas business partnerships.

 

Lockwood was appointed chief executive of tech firm Laird in August 2012 and was formerly vice president, Global Defence & Security within comms giant BT.

Prior to this, he served as VP for the Defence & Security C4i Systems and Air Operations at Thales, and was managing director, Sensor Systems for BAE Systems.

Lockwood was also director for the international division of Public Networks Group in GPT, and a non-executive director at Samsung Thales Corporation (Korea). He has also held positions with the UK Cabinet Office as part of the Cyber Security Industry Working Party.

Lockwood said:
