Photocure appoints new chief operating officer

Kathleen Deardorff will join Norwegian specialist pharmaceutical company Photocure as chief operating officer on 1 May.
She has over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as head of global marketing at GE Healthcare.
Prior to joining GE Healthcare, Kathleen spent 17 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb, finishing her time there as vice president for the company’s US Oncology Franchise.
She will report directly to the company’s president and chief executive Kjetil Hestdal and becomes a member of the management team.
Kjetil Hestdal said: “We are delighted that Kathleen Deardorff has joined the Photocure team. Her knowledge of the business and industry across multiple geographies and high level of business acumen will further strengthen our team as we continue to execute our strategy of evolution into a specialty pharmaceutical company.”
Photocure specialises in dermatology and cancer, and its product portfolio includes the bladder cancer diagnostic product Hexvix, acne treatment Allumera and Cevira for pre-malignant cervical lesions.
