ICON promotes Tom O’Leary

Tom O’Leary has been appointed president of ICON Central Laboratories, succeeding Bob Scott-Edwards.

Scott-Edwards had held the role since August 2004, having previously served as vice president of sales and marketing at ICON Central Laboratories since June 2000.

Under his tenure, Icon established a global network of wholly-owned central laboratories in New York, Dublin, Ireland, Singapore and Bangalore, India.

Meanwhile, Tom O’Leary was previously senior vice president and global head of data management at ICON Clinical Research.

He joined the company in February 2001 and was appointed global head of data management in 2006.

Prior to ICON, O’Leary held senior data management, project management and resource management positions at SmithKline Beecham and GlaxoSmithKline.
