BioCision has expanded its management team, appointing Hugh Douglas as chief operating officer and adding to its corporate advisory board.
Hugh most recently led business consulting group Bridge4Bio and prior to that was managing director and president of Hoefer, a part of Harvard Bioscience.
He said: “I’m excited to be joining BioCision at such an important time for the company. As BioCision takes steps to expand across markets and into new geographies, the company’s products are increasingly becoming essential tools in the quest for standardised basic and clinical research.”
His former roles also include serving as vice president of the West Coast operations for Amersham Biosciences, now a part of GE Healthcare.
Chief executive Rolf Ehrhardt said, ‘The expansion of our management team and the addition of new members to our top-notch corporate advisory board give BioCision a wealth of experience to tap into as we continue to rapidly expand our product line of benchtop sample handling tools. Hugh Douglas’s experience in successfully managing high-growth start-ups will be an asset to our firm as we move forward.’
Meanwhile, joining BioCision’s advisory board are former Proteolix/Onyx Pharmaceuticals’ chief medical officer Lori Kunkel and Biotix Holdings’ chief executive Paul Nowak.
Founded in 2007, BioCision designs, manufactures and markets modular benchtop tools for biomedical samples.
