Former Bayer man becomes senior VP of Sanofi’s Asia region

Sanofi has appointed Jean-Luc Lowinski as its new senior vice president of the Asia region, effective from 1 May. 

Jean-Luc Lowinski will be based in Shanghai and report to Hanspeter Spek, Sanofi’s president of global operations, and will become a member of the global leadership team of the Group. 

Jean-Luc Lowinski holds a PhD in veterinary science from the University of Nantes, France and is a graduate from INSEAD. 

Jean-Luc joins Sanofi from Bayer Germany, where he started his pharma career in 1992 and held various positions, including head of operations in Singapore, India, Thailand, China and Japan.

In 2003 he became head of Bayer Healthcare, China, before being appointed head of Bayer Healthcare in Asia Pacific and president, Bayer Yakuhin, Japan in 2007.

Since 2010, he has been global head of the animal health division at Bayer.
