Healthcare services provider UDG Healthcare has appointed Brendan McAtamney to be its executive director and announces two other senior hires.
McAtamney (pictured) joined UDG Healthcare as chief operating officer in September this year from Abbott Laboratories, where he worked in a variety of leadership positions.
Gerard van Odijk and Linda Wilding have also been appointed non-executive directors at the company: van Odijk was president and European chief executive of Teva Pharmaceuticals until 2012.
Prior to this he held various senior management positions with GlaxoSmithKline, latterly holding the position of senior VP and Area director of Northern Europe.
Wilding’s career included 12 years at Mercury Asset Management where she held the position of managing director in the Private Equity division. Prior to this she qualified as a chartered accountant while working with Ernst & Young.
Hugh Friel who has served on the UDG board since 2009 has indicated that for personal reasons he will not go forward for re-election at next year’s AGM meeting in February.
“We are delighted to welcome Gerard, Linda, and Brendan to the board”, said UDG chairman Peter Gray. “Gerard and Brendan bring significant European pharmaceutical industry experience, while Linda brings a London-based financial background. We are sorry to lose Hugh, and thank him for the excellent contribution he has made to our deliberations over the past five years.”
