Healthcare development firm Emperra E-Health Technologies has hired Dr Christian Krey as managing director and chief executive.

Krey was previously employed as business unit manager at a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary. Prior to that, he held various positions in the field of diabetes at Lilly, Berlin Chemie and A. Menarini Diagnostics.

Krey takes over from Dr Mertens, who has held the position for the past three years, and will now assume the role of VP business development.

Dr Klaus Stöckemann, chairman of the advisory board at Emperra and managing director of Peppermint Venture Partners, said: “With Dr Krey, we are elated to have recruited an experienced manager for Emperra from the field of diabetes. At the same time, we also owe great gratitude to Dr Mertens for his work over the past three years and are pleased that he will continue to be a part of the company in his new important role.”

Krey added: “I am very happy to be at Emperra and to utilise my many years of experience in the field of diabetes, in order to position in the market and further develop the ESYSTA system. This system is unique and will help improve the care for persons with diabetes. For the first time, it enables all stakeholders to be involved.”
