EMA appoints Alexis Nolte head of quality

The European Medicines Agency has appointed Alexis Nolte to head up its Quality of Medicines Sector.
He was previously principal scientific administrator within that part of the EMA, where he worked primarily in the area of biotechnology and biological products, in particular advanced therapies and emerging technologies.
He was appointed principal scientific administrator in 1999 and in his new role as head of sector he replaces John Purves, who retires after 14 years at the EMA.
The Agency has also appointed Jean-Claude Brival as head of its Product Data Management Sector.
