Eleva appoints Erich Rajkovic as Chief Business Officer

Eleva, a biopharmaceutical company specialising in formerly inaccessible biologics, has announced the appointment of Dr Erich Rajkovic as Chief Business Officer (CBO).

Rajkovic brings extensive leadership experience in the biotechnology sector to his new role. He previously held the role of Vice President Business Development at Eleva. Prior to this, he spent almost two decades at Affimed, in roles including Senior Programme Director/ Programme Head and Vice President Business Development. During his time at Affimed, Rajkovic successfully negotiated and closed multiple strategic partnerships with major pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies and academic institutions.

In his new role, he will lead Eleva’s future pipeline expansion, as well as its external collaborations. Rajkovic’s areas of expertise include business development, drug development and management of alliances.

Rajkovic commented that he was joining at “a pivotal stage in the company’s development”. He said: “As the molecular complexity of next-generation therapeutics increasingly challenges existing technologies, Eleva’s cutting-edge technology and expertise in enabling previously inaccessible therapeutic modalities create compelling opportunities.”

Björn Cochlovius, CEO of Eleva, highlighted Rajkovic’s “deep experience across business development and research and development (R&D)”. He added: “Erich’s proven expertise in fostering innovation and building frameworks to drive partnered and proprietary development programmes is a valuable addition to our organisation.”

Eleva’s goal is the development of a pipeline of next-generation drug candidates. Its Factor H (CPV-104) programme aims to address severe kidney disorders, dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other complement-driven diseases.
