Dr Wolfgang Renz joins PharmaNet

PharmaNet Development Group has appointed Dr Wolfgang Renz senior vice president of clinical operations.
He will be responsible for the drug development services company’s European clinical operations, as well as its regional monitoring group in the US, and will be based in the Zurich, Switzerland office.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone of Dr Renz’s stature join the PharmaNet organisation,” said Dr Robert Reekie, chief operating officer. “Wolfgang’s broad experience in drug development combined with his energy and commitment to scientific excellence further enhances our extensive global capabilities in clinical operations.”
Before joining PharmaNet Dr Renz served as general manager of JSS Medical Research, president of Samaritan Therapeutics and adjunct professor of surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
He has also held senior positions in clinical research organisations and was chief executive officer of Venn Life Sciences Holdings.
He has also previously held medical roles at Roche, Merz and Axcan Pharma in Canada.
