
CRO Novum appoints vice president

Dr Alan Copa has joined contract research organisation Novum Pharmaceutical Research Services as vice president.
“Dr. Copa brings a high degree of experience, knowledge, and innovation to Novum,” said Christopher Chamberlain, the firm’s chief executive. “He will help Novum expand clinic capacity and capabilities to meet our clients’ timelines and needs while championing Novum’s commitment to subject safety and study integrity.”
Prior to joining the Pittsburgh-based company, Copa was the chief scientific officer of PRACS Institute. In his 20-year tenure at the company, Copa served in numerous clinical and operational lead roles, and was principal investigator presiding over 1,000 projects spanning early phase, dermatology, pharmacokinetic and other study disciplines.
Copa received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota. He then completed a two-year fellowship in Cardiovascular Research and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
