BMS appoints UK market access director

Patrick Hopkinson has joined Bristol-Myers Squibb as director of market access and external affairs in the UK.

He joins the company from GlaxoSmithKline, where he spent 14 years in various commercial roles, most recently as UK director of portfolio and partnership marketing.

Prior to GSK, Patrick worked as a consultant pharmacist in the NHS.

In his new role he will lead the company’s 40-strong market access team and manage its strategic and operational interfaces with NICE, the NHS and the Department of Health.

Commenting on the appointment, Frédéric Duchesne, European VP and general manager of BMS UK, said: “Patrick will play a major role in helping to ensure optimal access for our portfolio of new products in a challenging and quickly evolving UK healthcare environment.

“We are delighted to have him on board, and are looking forward to his contribution to our evolution into a biopharma leader of the future.”
