Woolley Pau Gyro has appointed Andy Jones to the role of creative director.

Jones (pictured) was previously deputy creative director of Ogilvy Healthworld and the appointment is the latest in a year of transformation for the agency, sparked by the arrival of managing director Ed Shorthose.

Shorthose said: “We want to gather the brightest people we can in one place and get them working together to solve our clients’ business problems. So for us, Andy was the perfect candidate. He’s a talented advertising creative who understands the transformative power of ideas. Like us he is passionate about developing the people around him. And he just happens to have a life science PhD.”

New creative leadership at the agency means new focus for agency founder Dean Woolley – and a new job title. He added: “Having Andy here to run the creative department gives me the opportunity to work more directly on client business. That means doing even more of what I’ve always loved doing for the agency: developing creative strategy; coming up with campaign ideas; simply writing copy. That doesn’t all fit on a business card, so I get to be called executive creative director.”
