ALG makes senior hires to increase global growth

Medical products company ALG has hired Matt Guixe as chief operating officer and Jackie Fisher as chief financial officer.

Guixe (right in image) has joined ALG after senior management roles with ASDA and Tesco. He is a specialist in customer experience as well as logistics and supply chain. 

Fisher (centre) is an experienced financial director having previously worked for Cheshire firm Thyson Technology as well as a former financial director of Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. She also has international experience having worked for Ernst & Young in Sydney. 

Chief executive Hugh Sheridan (left) says: “The appointment of Matt and Jackie strengthens the ALG senior management team and ensures that our key people are playing to their strengths. Our brands are having a life-changing impact on patients around the globe and we continue to identify and innovate further products which not only change the way people move, but also the way they feel. Matt and Jackie not only bring with them a wealth of experience but also a passion for doing business in a dynamic, innovative and global way.”

ALG owns product brands covering podiatry, physiotherapy and orthotics and prosthetics. The company achieved turnover of £12million in 2014, up from £10.7million in the previous year.

However, the rate of growth outside of the UK was most eye-catching with its offices in Los Angeles and Dubai seeing year-on-year revenue increases of 54 and 48% respectively. Its Melbourne office reported 20% growth. 

ALG’s group of businesses now employs more than 90 people in the UK and overseas with further recruitment planned over the coming months. Its head office is in Speke, Liverpool.
