Prior to his time at Interface, Brian worked in medical publishing, on both the advertising and management sides.

Palphramand, Acumen's managing director, said: "I  have always believed that a service provider should offer high quality individual solutions which are based on actual needs, rather than an off-the-shelf offering."

He added: "You hear many stories these days of service providers not living up to expectations. We will ensure that we deliver what we promise."

The company started working with its first client last December and has proposals under consideration at a number of other companies.

"I am delighted to be in at the start of what will prove to be an exciting adventure. I have worked  for nearly 30 years in medical communications and I am relishing the idea of building another successful business," Palphramand said.

In addition to Palphramand, Acumen can draw on the skills of specialist analysts, programmers and medical writers.
