Ian Bullock has been appointed chief executive of the Royal College of Physicians.

Bullock originally joined the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) in 2009 as chief operating officer for the NCGC, leading on the successful merger of four acute guideline centres into one.
Previous to these roles with the RCP, Bullock has had extensive clinical experience, starting his career in nursing, and continues to be actively involved in educational and research practice in subjects such as advanced life support and undergraduate medical and nursing curriculum development.
On the appointment, RCP president Jane Dacre says: “I’m delighted to welcome Ian Bullock to the post of CEO. With a strong determination to improve outcomes for patients as well as a wide range of useful and practical knowledge of the healthcare landscape, his appointment will be of great benefit to the RCP.”
