Veeva, a cloud software company, concluded its annual European Commercial Summit last week, held this year in Madrid. The conference brought together a broad range of over 700 individuals from the life sciences industry, from pharma giants to smaller biotech companies. Veeva used the conference to announce the release of its latest product, Veeva CRM Engage Meeting.

Engage Meeting allows sales representatives and medical professionals to interact directly via video calls. The program allows health-care professionals and sales representatives to connect through an app, therefore enabling connection in locations beyond an office environment.

Veeva President Matt Wallach, in his keynote speech, was keen to stress the flexibility this will offer sales representatives in their interactions with health-care professionals: “Sometimes they’ll be face-to-face, sometimes they’ll be in their car, in their office or at home doing virtual meetings.”

One of the recurring messages at Summit was that customers’ expectations have been greatly increased by the improved convenience and efficiency offered by digital platforms. Veeva’s aim is to provide a platform that it believes will meet health-care professionals’ expectations.

Speaking to Pharmafocus, Jan van den Burg, vice president of commercial strategy for Europe at Veeva, explained that: “What we’re trying to do is help the industry move to a place where they become on a par with the consumer space. We’re announcing the availability of Engage Meeting; this is focused on digital engagement to make it more convenient from a pharma representative perspective to drive greater productivity.”

Veeva provides cloud-based software to the life sciences industry, with over 200 CRM customers, 475 total customers and 370+ agency partners. Veeva’s Engage family of products aims to ensure ease and efficiency of interaction between life sciences sales representatives and the health-care professionals with whom they communicate.
