
ABPI appoints nightclub owner as new NHS manager

The ABPI has appointed Raj Tugnet as its new NHS partnership manager to lead ABPI activities on academic health science networks and medicines optimisation.
Tugnet who recently opened a nightclub in St Ives in the UK, has worked in the pharma and healthcare industry for over 16 years in a series of speciality roles within the commercial, marketing and market access divisions.
Most recently he worked at Nicoventures, a firm that commercialises nicotine products for smokers finding it difficult to quit, where he managed a healthcare development team.
Prior to this Tugnet worked at Allergan UK, managing a commercial neurology team across the UK & Ireland with responsibility for NHS tenders.
On his appointment Tugnet said: “I am delighted to be joining the ABPI at what is a very significant time for the continued evolution of the NHS. Driving improved productivity through organisational and functional change in order to deliver greater patient value and health outcomes is a top priority for the NHS, pharmaceutical industry and aligned support groups.”
NHS Partnerships director Carol Blount added: “I am delighted that Raj is joining the NHS Partnerships team. Raj’s experience will be hugely beneficial to ensuring that the ABPI continues to work together with member companies and the NHS for mutually beneficial aims”.
