Multi Packaging Solutions (“MPS”)(NYSE: MPSX),  a global market leader in healthcare, spirits, confectionery and media packaging, has been voted the coveted ‘Packaging Company of the Year’ at the recent Packaging News UK Packaging Awards ceremony held at London’s Grosvenor Park Hotel.

Out of eight shortlisted companies for the award, MPS was judged the best overall Packaging Company of the Year based on development, innovation and overall performance. Since 2014, the business has successfully integrated 14 new manufacturing locations through multiple acquisitions.

Tim Whitfield, EVP European Branded Consumer, who collected the award on behalf of MPS, said: “We’re delighted to be presented with this prestigious award which is a credit to all our employees and reflects their hard work and dedication. The business has invested strongly in new equipment to improve its capabilities and provide customers with a greater range of production options to match their long-term needs. As well as new equipment, we’ve invested in employee training and development to ensure any investment in new assets is equally matched by investment in people. Today, MPS has 60 manufacturing sites, over 8,700 employees and operates from locations in North America, Europe and Asia. Although the business has a global reach, our philosophy has always been to offer local solutions to our customers.”

The judges for this category commented: “MPS is a thoroughly deserved winner having gone from strength to strength through a series of acquisitions. Its investment in state-of-the-art machinery combined with highly skilled staff and constant forward looking makes it a stand out company.”

MPS encourages and supports innovation in all areas of its business from creative design to manufacturing. MPS is currently exploring the application of newly emerging technologies such as Near-Field Communication and how these interactive techniques can be best applied to packaging.

“We know packaging has to work hard on-the-shelf, aiding patient compliance or differentiating premium products in busy retail environments” continued Tim. “At Multi Packaging Solutions, we protect and promote the world’s great brands as well as many more specialist niche businesses.”
