Serge Weinberg has joined the board of directors at Sanofi-Aventis, replacing Gunter Thielen, who has resigned for personal reasons.
The move will be ratified at the company’s general meeting in May and following that meeting the company will propose Weinberg also be appointed non-executive chairman of the board, replacing Jean-Francois Dehecq.
In a long and varied career Weinberg’s most recent moves include founding investment firm Weinberg Capital Partners in March 2005, serving as nonexecutive chairman of the board of the Accor Group from 2006 to 2009 and being a founding member and treasurer of the “Brain and Spinal Cord Institute” – Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Épinière (ICM).
