Ron Branning joins Genzyme

Genzyme has appointed industry veteran Ron Branning as its new senior vice president of global product quality.
Branning has 30 years’ experience working at the likes of Johnson & Johnson, Genentech and Gilead Sciences, and will have the task of getting Genzyme’s manufacturing back on track after a series of quality issues at its Allston Landing facility.
Genzyme chief executive Henri Termeer said: “Bringing in new senior leaders such as Ron is a fundamental component of our plan to renew and strengthen our manufacturing organisation.”
In his new role Branning will be in charge of monitoring product quality across the company’s 17 sites around the world.
