Pfizer UK and Entia’s home blood monitoring device for breast cancer patients is in late-stage development, with regulatory approvals expected for the UK and EU in early 2022.

Through Entia’s virtual oncology platform, patients are able to perform their own blood test. The platform also enables healthcare teams to remotely monitor results. Entia’s solution aims to help improve patient quality of life, reducing the burden of travelling for blood monitoring tests for metastatic breast cancer patients.

The platform shares patients’ results with their healthcare teams, allowing changes to be detected earlier, and has been developed with patient and medical professional input through trials overseen by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is the largest single-site cancer centre.

“Living with cancer is hard enough for people, and so it’s important that we try to relieve the burden of treatment monitoring, as well as helping our already stretched healthcare services,” said Erling Donnelly, Pfizer UK Oncology Lead. “We’re excited to partner with Entia to do this for people living with metastatic breast cancer.”

Entia’s founder and CEO Dr Toby Basey-Fisher said: “We founded Entia with the belief that we could improve the lives of people during cancer treatment. We knew that combining virtual services with our blood monitoring technology we could truly transform the way cancer care is delivered in a reliable way.”

Entia works in partnership with patients and world-renowned healthcare centres to deliver virtual solutions that transform cancer care. They aim to empower patients with freedom, allowing them to reclaim personal time outside of healthcare settings. Entia is dedicated to improving patient access to care, whilst delivering unique insights to support better outcomes for cancer patients.
