Almirall appoints new general manager for Germany

Spanish pharma company Almirall has promoted Farid Taha to be its general manager for Germany.

He joined Almirall in 2000 as global marketing director, and in 2006 was promoted to senior director Europe.

In his new role Farid will also lead the company’s operations in Austria and Switzerland.

Farid said: “I am extremely proud to be part of such an innovative team and delighted to have the opportunity to continue supporting Almirall from Germany at such an exciting time for the company.

“The product portfolio is rapidly expanding, with two phase III trials, in respiratory and gastrointestinal disease areas, expected to complete in the coming months in order to deliver, new, safe and more effective medicines that improve patients’ lives.”

Farid’s appointment coincides with a change of leadership at Almirall, whose incoming chief executive Eduardo Sanchiz and new executive chairman Jorge Gallardo take up their posts today.
