Dechra Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing gains international recognition for its environmental standards

Skipton based pharmaceuticals manufacturer; Dechra Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing has recently achieved the internationally recognised ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standard Certification.

ISO14001:2004 requires that organisations have an environmental policy and an action plan for managing their impact on the environment.  Once certified, the business is committed to a programme of continuous improvement which is reviewed annually to ensure that progress is maintained.

The independent assessment of Dechra, which was conducted by the leading certification body, the British Assessment Bureau, revealed that the company demonstrated good environmental controls that have reduced its impact on the environment. As a result, Dechra Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing can now display the coveted British Assessment Bureau ISO 14001 Certification Mark which demonstrates its conformity with the standard.

 Dechra Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing’s Managing Director Mike Annice said, “We are really pleased to have achieved ISO 14001 certification. It underlines our commitment to our customers and our focus on protecting the environment.  The award has revealed that our ‘back-office’ activities, which are not always evident to our customers, are environmentally friendly, from quotation to delivery of our products and services.”

§ Streamlining the business’ waste management procedures and reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill with the resulting cost reductions to the business
